The Eden Directive (Album Download)

The Eden Directive is the final album in the Psychedelic Room’s interconnected Taluka, Annukain and Eden saga. It brings Annukain’s story to its conclusion and reveals why the Caretakers were left waiting on Eden.

Thirty years after the golden age of Catching the Light, humanity attempts to create wormhole travel. The experiment triggers a catastrophe that cannot be stopped. With Eleanor gone and Annukain now an older man, the consequences unfold through people trying to preserve a future they may never live to see.

The Caretakers are built and dispatched to a distant planet, tasked with preparing it for humanity’s arrival in stasis. Earth Prime’s people never arrive. The album’s closing transmission connects their absence to the mysterious coordinates that begin The Eden Transmission.

Musically, The Eden Directive combines British psychedelic progressive rock with the rolling analogue sequences of 1970s Berlin School. Melodic electric bass and acoustic drums support measured vocals, memorable choruses and extended clean electric-guitar solos. Human accounts gradually give way to mechanical archive voices as responsibility passes to the Caretakers.
